youngest child, playing the piano at her high school. to say that music is her life would be an understatement.
the latest chatter around the shack is that we will likely forego the return-to-san francisco idea. too expensive, overall. that means that the big island move may well be happening ahead of our original plan, which was about four years from now.
the biggest problem with moving away- to anywhere, is taking youngest daughter away from all she knows and loves here. that sort of thing is never simple. sometimes it's disastrous. but honestly, how mad could she stay, in paradise? we just know we want out of california. sooner rather than later. we can't afford to grow old here.
oh... and go barack obama! that would be something-to-behold. truly.

When I brought my wife to Kansas almost 30 years ago she thought I had taken her to hell; being a Vermont farm girl, the plains didn't have much appeal for her. I had always thought when I retired we would move back that direction, but she says her grandchildren are here so we're staying.
I was happy to hear Obama's decision as well!

cool looking kid - music obsessed youth are the best! How much longer has she got in school? Sounds as if you need a change in your life, and if moving makes you happy and more future-oriented, she will do just fine. Or, hmmm...could you bear her to live in SF with family whilst you go westward? Just a thought....
I'm rooting for Barack too.
