grateful dead at the greek theatre, u.c. berkeley. september of 1981. a friday evening.
an old friend of mine worked for the litho company that published this photo. i found it in a box the other day.
i never lose sight of how lucky i was to experience the times i did, seeing this band. especially at the greek.

I never got to see them; I did get to hear them once, when they played at Sandstone Ampitheatre here. My Mom was living a mile or so away and it was quiet enough in Bonner Springs that day you could actually hear the music!
I have a disc of that now...

I regret that I missed them when they were around. I discovered them around 2004 which is just like me to come to the party late.
I wish I'd seen them live. I don't think the records capture what they were really all about.
I also peaked at the greek!

I love the greek! Never saw them there -- only saw 'em once, at the Fair Grounds in Watsonville.
I saw Joni Mitchell at the greek - oh man what a show. probably around 1977....wow...
never made it to the west coast for a show but my oh my have i got some east coast stories to tell you...
